FarmHouse Cafe & Bakery
About This Spot
Stepping into FarmHouse Cafe & Bakery on a quiet stretch of Omaha’s south side is like settling into a long-held neighborhood secret, where the morning light fills the room with a gentle warmth and the hum of friendly conversation moves at an easy pace. This is a place that embraces a comforting, familiar rhythm — the kind where servers remember your name and the coffee feels like a quiet invitation to linger a little longer.
The atmosphere carries a genuine diner vibe that’s both unpretentious and welcoming, perfectly suited for everything from early breakfasts to a relaxed lunch or casual dinner. There’s a comforting familiarity here, where the clatter of plates mingles with the aroma of fresh-baked pastries and the soft murmur of families and friends sharing plates and stories. It’s the kind of spot where time feels a little kinder, and the simple act of sitting down for a meal turns into a moment of connection and ease.
At FarmHouse, the menu weaves together homey classics and bakery treats with a thoughtful hand—whether it’s a perfectly crafted omelette, a cinnamon roll sweet enough to satisfy a child’s enthusiasm, or a savory dish warming from the kitchen’s heart. The food arrives with genuine care, often paired with the kind of service that feels like a small kindness in a busy day. There’s a particular charm in how the flavors recall comfort and tradition, creating a quietly joyful experience without rushing or fuss.
What also resonates here is the sense of place—one where regulars feel at home and newcomers are welcomed with the same steady warmth. It’s a local spot where careful details, like freshly baked blueberry muffins or a well-poured cup of coffee, add up to more than just a meal — they become part of a shared moment to savor.

Had a wonderful breakfast at Farmhouse Cafe and Bakery! The Gardener’s Omelette was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. My son devoured the cinnamon roll in no time, which says a lot! The service was fast and super friendly. Definitely a spot we’ll be coming back to.

I love "the diner vibe". Prompt service. I ordered the fried ckn dinner. Good food. The only thing I wasn't crazy about, was that the food was lukewarm. It had great flavor but I needed it warmer. The taste made up for it. The price was real good as well. Oh and they brought the food out immediately as well.

My plate is empty because the food is that good. I had biscuits and gravy, sausage hash browns with pepper jack cheese. Stop in and ask for Hallie she is a world class server. Best place to bring family or friends.

Full transparency; I have not yet eaten this carrot cake, and I have not dined at Farmhouse Cafe in the last 15 years. However, they obtain a solid 5 stars from me due to a Christmas Eve snafu and their ability to a.) not treat me like I’m insane because I would have and b.) come through with a last minute carrot cake while they were actively finding Jesus in the weeds. The aforementioned snafu was on my end. After what was, essentially a game of telephone through several family channels, I was tasked with picking up my sister’s birthday cake. From Farmhouse Cafe. There was one small hiccup, though. The cake was not ordered *from* Farmhouse Cafe. Their diligent staff searched high and low for a nonexistent cake. On Christmas Eve. During the end of the lunch rush and when everyone else comes to pick up orders. But lo and behold, because these guys are pros, they produced this carrot cake for me. They nodded in sympathy as I described a cake to them and gave them a name they had never heard. Once the family was collectively able to solve this mystery, it dawned on me that these guys deserve a shout out, or at the very least a laugh. Because it doesn’t cost anything to be nice, and it’s Christmas after all.

My first visit 5/31/2025. This food was so delicious! The lady that helped me was so kind. Kat was my server. She made sure I had everything. Thank you Kat for doing an excellent job!

Absolutely incredible! The service is fantastic. Alanna was sweet and on top of things my coffee was never even half empty. The quality completely wowed me. We couldn't finish our meals but ate most of them.
